As Clemson prepares to launch Workday this July, the University’s goal is to ensure all faculty, staff and student employees feel confident and informed in the transition between systems.
Workday Info Sessions will provide a high-level look at what will happen between April and July to prepare campus for Workday, our new, streamlined HR and Finance system. The first Workday Info Session is scheduled for Monday, April 20, at 1 p.m. in Lehotsky G22, with additional dates to come.
Preparing for launch
Workday Info Sessions lay the foundation to ensure all Clemson University employees are aware of upcoming changes and impacts of the move to Workday. While not hands-on training, these sessions will cover key topics like:
- Training: Workday Info Sessions will provide an overview of the types of training that will be available, on what topics, and when.
- Cutover: To get from our current systems to Workday, the University will enter a cutover period* between April and July – the timeframe when activities in current, legacy systems will stop, and actions will begin in Workday.
- Change Impacts: As we move from current systems to Workday, some of our business processes and practices will change. This session will introduce some key changes and connect attendees with where to find additional details.
- Support: As we approach go-live, a tiered support structure will include local, division and college-level support, along with a higher, more specialized support structure for more detailed questions. This session will introduce “Workday Resource Groups” – key connection points to all things Workday.
Time will also be reserved at the end of each session for questions.
While previously-held “What’s Up With Workday?” sessions focused on specific business functions and roles, one-hour Workday Info Sessions are designed for all faculty and staff and offer a broad overview of the Workday transition.
Attendees will leave with a broad understanding of what will change with Workday, when changes will occur and how to access training and support resources.
Sessions have been scheduled at various times and locations across campus to ensure as many faculty and staff as possible can attend.
Two Zoom sessions will also be held specifically for faculty and staff based at Clemson locations outside of the main campus.
A final Zoom session is also scheduled for those who may miss other opportunities to attend. The session will be recorded and posted on the Workday@Clemson webpage.
Registration is not required.
All faculty and staff are encouraged to attend to ensure they are prepared for Workday’s launch in July.
The first session will be held on April 20, from 1 to 2 p.m. in Lehotsky G22. Additional dates and times throughout April and May will be released at a later date.
Workday resources
As July approaches, faculty and staff will receive more information about how the move to Workday will impact them. In the meantime, several resources are available for faculty and staff to familiarize themselves with the new system.
*Additional information regarding cutover will be provided to all faculty and staff at a later date.
