Clemson University Parking and Transportation Services (PATS) recently earned a 2026 Apex Award from the International Parking and Mobility Institute (IPMI), which recognizes parking and transportation projects showcasing creativity, innovation, sustainability and the customer experience.
Clemson earned the Apex Award in the Innovation category for the implementation of Tigers Commute, Clemson’s platform for real-time parking and transportation information.

The award builds on other recent recognitions by IPMI. Clemson was designated an IPMI Accredited Parking Organization (APO) in 2025, joining a select group of less than 30 universities nationwide. Clemson also received an honorable mention award from IPMI in 2025.
“Parking and Transportation Services is proud to stand among the best in the country,” said Dan Hofmann, director of Parking and Transportation Services. “We were one of only 25 universities to earn IPMI’s Accredited Parking Organization designation last year, and this year we received the 2026 Apex Award of Excellence—the highest honor in our field. We’re proud of the recognition, and especially of the talented staff and partners who keep pushing boundaries and building something special.”
Tigers Commute, for which Clemson was recognized, launched in the Fall of 2024.

The platform allows users to find parking options, track campus and community bus routes in real time, explore available electric charging stations, e-bikes and ride-sharing and more. More than 10,000 individual parking space sensors across campus allow drivers to view available spaces at a glance.
IPMI is the world’s leading association for parking, transportation, and mobility professionals.
