Winter Weather Update 1.18.22 – Wednesday Opening Delayed to 9 a.m.

Share:

Clemson University Upstate locations including main campus, CU-ICAR, GreenvilleONE, CUBEInC in Patewood, the Center for Human Genetics in Greenwood, the Innovation Campus and Technology Park in Anderson and Clemson University School of Nursing at Prisma Health will open at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, January 19 due to hazardous conditions caused by winter weather.

Caution is urged due to likely overnight freezing of local roadways and sidewalks. Forecasts expect temperatures to drop below freezing this evening causing pockets of slick surfaces. While nearly all campus roadways are clear, some snow runoff in shady areas may cause hazardous conditions on surrounding roadways and walking paths.

All other statewide locations should follow the same winter weather hazard decisions made by the county government where their office is located. A full list of delays and closings can be found on the South Carolina Emergency Management Division website.

If a student cannot make it to a scheduled class on Wednesday, they should contact their instructor directly.

If an employee cannot report to work on Wednesday, they should consult with their supervisor, and supervisors are asked to provide flexibility for faculty and staff who may have issues accessing campus due to hazardous roadways. Employees can work remotely if their job permits, take leave, or make up their missed work time. All missed work time must be made up by Jan. 31, 2022.

COVID-19 Testing

Main campus COVID-19 testing will be open from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m.
