Clemson University’s main campus and the Center for Human Genetics in Greenwood will open at noon on Tuesday, January 18 due to hazardous conditions caused by winter weather. Classes will begin at 12:30 p.m.
UPDATE – Greenville County has announced its government offices will be closed on Tuesday, Jan. 18. In accordance with the closure, Clemson University will close all Greenville County facilities and all classes scheduled to originate from Greenville are cancelled. Additionally, Clemson COVID-19 testing scheduled for Greenville County locations are cancelled. This impacts GreenvilleONE, CU-ICAR, CUBEInC in Patewood, the Greenville County Cooperative Extension, and Clemson University School of Nursing at Prisma Health.
The Innovation Campus and Technology Park in Anderson will be closed in accordance with Anderson County Government Offices.
All other statewide locations should follow the same winter weather hazard decisions made by the county government where their office is located. A full list of delays and closings can be found on the South Carolina Emergency Management Division website.
If a student cannot make it to a scheduled class on Tuesday afternoon, they should contact their instructor directly.
If an employee cannot report to work on Tuesday, they should consult with their supervisor, and supervisors are asked to provide flexibility for faculty and staff who may have issues accessing campus due to hazardous roadways. Employees can work remotely if their job permits, take leave, or make up their missed work time. All missed work time must be made up by Jan. 31, 2022.
COVID-19 Testing
COVID-19 Testing will be opened from noon until 2 p.m., with a priority of testing those who are symptomatic or have had a known exposure.
- Students, faculty, and staff with a testing due date of Monday or Tuesday will have their access extended until testing fully reopens on Wednesday.
- Bridge to Clemson students who have not obtained and submitted a pre-arrival result must take an on-campus test Tuesday and will not have access to University facilities other than housing until a result is obtained.
