Undergraduate students can explore Clemson’s wide variety of degree programs during the annual Major/Minor Fair from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. in the Hendrix Student Center ballrooms on Tuesday, Sept. 8. The event is co-hosted by Exploratory Studies and Clemson Undergraduate Student Government.
Advisors and representatives from each of Clemson’s academic colleges take part in the fair, along with Honors College, pre-law, pre-vet and pre-health programs. Additionally, the Center for Career and Professional Development, Clemson Libraries and many more student support services also offer resources throughout the fair.
“Each of Clemson’s undergraduate academic programs are represented at the fair,” says Ahmadou Mboup, who oversees Exploratory Studies, academic coaching and academic intervention for the Academic Success Center. “The fair is designed as a one-stop shop to explore majors and minors in a low-pressure environment. We hope students leave the fair with their questions answered and options outlined for them.”
The Major/Minor Fair is designed for students who may be undecided about a major or minor, exploring an additional major, investigating a specific pathway, experiencing registration challenges or curious about available resources. It offers direct connection opportunities for students, no registration required.
“There’s a stigma this event is only for first-year students, but it’s for everyone,” Mboup says. “If you’re a transfer and have general education credits only, it’s for you. If you’re far along in your process and want to explore experiential learning, professional school options or see if you can take additional courses, it’s for you. We hope the fair serves as a conversation-starter for students.”
