Editor’s note: This is the latest installment of the “Student Affairs Talk” podcast for 2019-20. Communications Director for Student Affairs Philip Sikes visits with various leaders from the staff and student communities. Our next guest in the summer 2020 series is Trinity Scott, a senior who serves as an Orientation team leader.
—
Trinity Scott grew up just miles from the University of South Carolina campus in Columbia, but somehow fate never seemed to be on her side in terms of officially touring or visiting the university. USC’s loss was Clemson’s gain, and the senior psychology major has flourished as a member of the Upstate campus community.
Scott is in her second year as a member of the Orientation ambassador team. Last year, she served as an ambassador, but this year she is one of six team leaders. Under her direction, she oversees six ambassadors who are charged with leading groups of incoming students and their families in the transition to Clemson. This year has been even more of a challenge because of the effects seen from COVID-19, which has led to virtual elements in lieu of the traditional in-person experience.
In the podcast, she reflects on not only her experiences as a student at Clemson, but also on the current national and local climate that has surfaced during the past few months. She also discusses her work within the Council of Diversity Affairs as part of Clemson Undergraduate Student Government.
