Editor’s note: This is the latest installment in our series of “Student Affairs Talk” podcasts. In it, Communications Director for Student Affairs Philip Sikes visits with various leaders from the staff and student communities. This week’s featured guest is Suzanne Price, director of residential learning within the University Housing and Dining department.

Suzanne Price was honored last weekend with the Clarice W. Johnson Outstanding Professional Award, given annually by the South Carolina College Personnel Association (SCCPA). The award recognizes diverse contributions to the field of student affairs by a “seasoned” professional. But Price hasn’t always been a student affairs professional. In fact, she earned an undergraduate degree in political science at Columbia College, a private women’s institution. It wasn’t until she went through a master’s program at Clemson that she was introduced to student affairs work.
Fast forward to 2018, and Price is in her fourth year as the director of residential learning at Clemson. She has been instrumental in the development and successful implementation of the university’s Faculty in Residence program. She advocates for women’s leadership and is an adjunct professor on campus. Her husband, Stephen, is the IT manager for the College of Agriculture, Forestry and Life Sciences at Clemson. She discusses all of that and more in this week’s podcast.
