South Carolina Public Servant Recognition Week is May 4-10

South Carolina Governor Henry McMaster proclaimed May 4 through 10 “South Carolina Public Servant Recognition Week.” Wednesday, May 7, has been designated as “South Carolina Public Servant Recognition Day.” 

South Carolina state employees are committed to delivering services to better the lives of the people of South Carolina and those who travel to and through the Palmetto State.”

In his proclamation, Governor McMaster expressed gratitude for state employees, saying, “State employees perform their duties with commitment, compassion and professionalism.” 

Clemson University will celebrate its more than 6,000 faculty and staff members with an Employee Appreciation luncheon on May 15, 2025, on the main campus.  

Recognition Week Discounts 

Several organizations across the state are offering discounts throughout the week for state employees. 

  • Columbia Fireflies: Discounted reserved seating for State Employee Appreciation Night on May 2 or 3. Tickets come with a free Fireflies hat! On May 3, enjoy a meet & greet with Bluey and Bingo with post-game fireworks. 
  • Patriots Point: Half price admission (normally $28) for SC employees with a valid ID between May 4 and May 10.
