Governor Henry McMaster is designating May 3-9, 2026, as South Carolina Public Servant Recognition Week and Wednesday, May 6, 2026, as South Carolina Public Servant Recognition Day.
The annual celebratory week recognizes public servants and the valuable contributions they make to the citizens of South Carolina.
Save the date! The Clemson University Employee Appreciation Luncheon will be held on May 13. Additional details will be released at a later date.
Recognition Week Discounts
Several organizations across the state are offering discounts to state employees throughout the week.
The Columbia Fireflies and Greenville Drive baseball teams are offering discounts on tickets for state employees and public servants on May 15-16:
The Columbia Fireflies will offer two opportunities for state employee appreciation. Friday, May 15, 2026, is Touch A Truck Night, and Saturday, May 16, is Star Wars Night with Post-Game Fireworks. Purchase tickets.
The Greenville Drive will also host two SC Public Servant Appreciation Day games on Friday, May 15 and Saturday, May 16. Purchase tickets.
Patriots Point will offer half-price admission for South Carolina state employees with a valid ID the week of May 3-9.
The State House Gift Shop will offer a 30% discount during a storewide sale from May 3-9, 2026. (This excludes State Park Passports.)
The South Carolina State Museum’s Cotton Mill Exchange will offer South Carolina state employees with a valid ID a 10% discount. (State employees who are also SC State Museum members will receive a 20% discount).
