Due to the inclement weather forecast for this weekend, the South Carolina Botanical Garden will be closed Sunday and Monday, Jan. 16-17.

Snow and rain are predicted for the Upstate this weekend. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) forecasts a 50% to 80% chance of rain and snow wintry mix Saturday night, with a 90% chance of snow Sunday and a 30% chance of snow Sunday night.

“The decision to close the Garden was made because of concerns with ice and snow on the paths,” said Thomas Dobbins, director of the Clemson Cooperative Extension Service and associate dean of outreach and engagement.

In the event the weather does not prove dangerous, the Garden will be open. For information, call 864-656-3405, email at scbg@clemson.edu, or follow on Facebook @southcarolinabotanicalgarden. The Garden is located at 150 Discovery Lane, Clemson, S.C. 29634.
