Metzger joins JMI Sports from her former role as vice president of partnership development for Hornets Sports and Entertainment in Charlotte, North Carolina. While working for the Hornets, Metzger’s team closed the first ever team jersey patch sponsorship with LendingTree and was selected as one of only three teams to successfully navigate ExxonMobil’s NBA league-wide RFP process, both resulting in significant long-term partnerships.

“We are excited to have someone with the depth of experience that Nicole brings leading Clemson Sports & Campus Marketing,” said Clemson Athletics Director Dan Radakovich. “Nicole has an excellent track record of success and we are excited to work with her to bring creative new ideas and sponsorship concepts to the college space.”

“Clemson University is bullish on JMI Sports’ Total Campus Marketing program,” said Mike Nebesky, Clemson’s director of procurement. “Nicole is not only committed to that program, but she also has experience working with major digital networks which will help Clemson and CS&CM as we collectively launch Clemson’s Campus Digital Network in the months ahead.”

JMI Sports CEO Erik Judson said, “The quality of our team provides us a competitive advantage in the marketplace so we hire the best and the brightest people with the most compelling backgrounds. Nicole is an exceptional talent who meets our very high standards and we are privileged to add her to the JMI Sports roster.”

“I am excited for this incredible opportunity to lead a group of talented professionals as we seek to maximize revenues for Clemson University and deliver incredible results to our existing and potential corporate sponsors,” said Metzger. “I am very impressed with the relationships and atmosphere that personifies the Clemson family. I feel like my entire life has been building for this opportunity and I can’t wait to get started.”

“We believe Nicole is a perfect fit for Clemson and JMI Sports,” Stultz said. “She has executed major sponsorship sales at very high levels, established great relationships with national and regional clients, and is committed to a consultative sales style geared to maximizing the effectiveness of each sponsorship dollar invested by corporate partners. In addition, she is deeply committed to training and developing a best-in-class sales, marketing and client services team.”

In addition to her leadership role with the Hornets, Metzger has served as vice president of global partnerships, activation, analytics and special events for the Miami Dolphins and Hard Rock Stadium; senior director of team sponsorship development, team marketing and business operations for the National Basketball Association; and held sponsorship sales and leadership positions with Proxy Partners LLC, the Denver Broncos Football Club and Kroenke Sports Entertainment. A native of Peachtree City, Georgia, Metzger is a graduate of the University of Georgia with a bachelor’s degree in business administration.
