The College of Arts and Humanities has launched an alumni speaker series titled Degrees of Success: Real Career Stories from Humanities Alumni. The series will kick off with a visit from Clemson English graduate Heather Simmons Jones ’97, M ’12 on September 23, 2025, at 6:30 p.m. in Daniel Hall 105.
The Degrees of Success series is part of the college’s effort to connect successful alumni with current students, giving students real-world role models for transitioning from college to careers.
Founding Dean Nicholas Vazsonyi introduced the series concept after meeting with various donors and alumni and hearing their stories.
“My hope with this series is to open the minds of our majors to the almost unlimited range of career possibilities that an arts and humanities degree can open up,” Vazsonyi said. “I am so proud of our graduates and what they have made of their lives, and grateful that they are willing to come back to campus and share their stories with our students. Go Tigers, literally!”
Vazsonyi noted that his vision is to continue the series, bringing alumni to campus each semester.
