Brent Beason of Charlotte named to Clemson University Foundation board

CLEMSON, South Carolina — Brent Beason of Charlotte has been named to a four-year term on the Clemson University Foundation board of directors.

After graduating from Clemson in 2003 with a Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering, Beason is the president of the BWF Group of companies, which makes specialty fiberglass products and includes four operating entities: BWF, The Multiple Winding Co. UK LTD, Poseidon Advanced Materials LLC and Echelon Material Technologies. The company is involved with Deep Orange research at the Clemson University International Center for Automotive Research in Greenville, South Carolina, and with Clemson’s football helmet concussion study through its partnership with Innegra.

Beason also is the executive director of The Multiple Winding Co. LTD in the United Kingdom and in 2018 received Her Majesty’s British Consul General Award for his role in promoting commerce between the United States and the United Kingdom.

He chaired the North Carolina chapter of the Young Presidents Organization and serves on its Southern 7-Chapter board, is an active supporter of Make A Wish and serves on the board of the British American Business Council and USO of Charlotte.

He has been a member of the Clemson University College of Engineering, Computing and Applied Sciences Dean’s Cabinet and Clemson’s board of visitors.

The Beason family members also have been significant supporters of the Indoor Football Practice Facility and established the Beason Family endowment to support entrepreneurial activities.
