Clemson University is preparing to implement Workday, a unified platform designed to modernize the way the University works. From time tracking and recruitment to procurement and expenses, Workday@Clemson will offer one platform for all human resources and finance processes – reducing complexity, improving efficiency across the University and enhancing the employee experience.

Workday will replace several existing Clemson systems, namely PeopleSoft HR and Finance, Kronos and BuyWays, among many others. A full list of systems set to be sunsetted is available on the Workday@Clemson Fast Facts webpage

As the University prepares to implement this transformative system, campus community members will have an increasing number of opportunities to explore the Workday system.

“What’s Up With Workday?” is the first step in that exploration: a series of informational sessions designed to give Clemson faculty, staff and student employees a preview of the many ways Workday will streamline operations and support daily work.

These monthly one-hour sessions will provide an overview of topics like “How do I get paid?,” “How can I manage my grants?,” and “How do I track my time?”

These preview sessions are intended to provide a brief overview of the system’s features and are not intended to serve as formal training. Extensive role-based training and support resources will be provided to faculty, staff and student workers closer to the implementation.

Monthly sessions through go-live

Workday@Clemson is scheduled to launch in July 2026. “What’s Up With Workday?” sessions will begin in September and take place monthly through the launch of the new system. Although participation is optional, these sessions will offer University employees valuable insight into how Workday will support them in their day-to-day activities.

An overview of session topics is included below, with specific dates and registration links available on the What’s Up With Workday webpage

  • Dashboards and Reporting & Training Overview
  • Employee and Manager Self-Service

The Workday@Clemson implementation has engaged approximately 150 team members across the University, working cross-functionally to design, develop and test this new system.

Workday@Clemson represents a modernization of our University’s systems – seamlessly connecting and streamlining processes across all campuses and units. The new one-stop-shop system will give faculty and staff more time to focus on what really matters: the University’s mission of teaching, research and service.
