Clemson University’s College of Architecture, Art and Construction (CAAC) has selected Ufuk Ersoy, Ph.D., as its new Associate Dean for Faculty Affairs, recognizing his commitment to faculty development, collaboration and academic leadership.

Ersoy, an associate professor and co-director of the Design and the Built Environment Ph.D. program, brings a strong record of interdisciplinary scholarship and faculty engagement to the role. His two-year appointment reflects the College’s continued investment in supporting its faculty and advancing a culture of excellence across teaching, research and service.

In his new position, Ersoy will work closely with Dean Ece Erdogmus and College leadership to guide faculty-related processes and initiatives. His responsibilities include advising on faculty policies, supporting annual evaluations and promotion and tenure processes and representing CAAC in university-level faculty affairs discussions.

He will also collaborate with department chairs and faculty to navigate professional development opportunities and address faculty needs across the College. Ersoy will also help ensure alignment with the Clemson University Faculty Manual and institutional policies.

“Dr. Ersoy’s experience as a scholar and leader positions him well to support our faculty and strengthen the academic mission of the College,” said Erdogmus. “His collaborative approach and commitment to an inclusive professional environment will be key as we continue to grow and evolve.”

Ersoy has been an active contributor to Clemson’s academic community, particularly through his leadership in the Design and the Built Environment Ph.D. program, where he has helped shape interdisciplinary research and mentor emerging scholars. His work reflects Clemson’s emphasis on innovation and real-world impact in the built environment.

As Associate Dean for Faculty Affairs, Ersoy will play a central role in fostering a supportive and dynamic environment for faculty. The position focuses on ensuring clarity and consistency in faculty processes while promoting collaboration across disciplines.
