Editor’s Note: This is the latest installment of the “Student Affairs Talk” podcast for 2021-22. Communications Director for Student Affairs Philip Sikes visits with various leaders from the staff and student communities. This week’s guest is Rachel Jones of Campus Recreation, who serves assistant director of the department in charge of Club Sports.
Rachel Jones is originally from New Jersey, but enjoyed her graduate assistant experience with Campus Recreation so much, she couldn’t wait to get back down South. She joined the department in a full-time role in August 2019 and works closely with the Club Sports program as a liaison between the teams, operations staff and student staff.
Jones earned an undergraduate degree from Rutgers University, where she participated in club basketball. Now, she’s the one ensuring students are provided with those types of unique experiences at Clemson.
Over the course of a 19-minute discussion, Jones details her background in collegiate recreation, her role at Clemson and how Club Sports can make an impact on the health and well-being of today’s college student.
