Student Affairs Publications earns four Education Digital Marketing awards


Student Affairs Publications (SA Pubs) recently earned four awards in the seventh annual Education Digital Marketing Awards, sponsored by the Higher Education Marketing Report. The awards span 28 different categories and aim to recognize the best in educational websites, digital content, electronic communications, mobile and social media. SA Pubs earned awards in all four categories it entered for this competition.

The Student Affairs Publications team received four Education Digital Marketing awards for its work in 2019, including this video profile on Jack Enright that generated more than 23,000 views on social media.

“I continue to be proud of our team and the work we do to elevate the messaging of Student Affairs at Clemson,” said Creative Director Tina LeMay, whose team earned 22 advertising and design awards from various associations in FY19.

SA Pubs received a gold award in the total digital marketing category for its resident assistant selection materials. The digital assets included social media advertisements and cover images, on-campus signage and web banners.

The team earned a silver award for its work with the Samuel J. Cadden Chapel microsite. The site includes information about the capital project, fundraising history, Sam Cadden’s story, project partners, visuals, construction updates and giving opportunities.

SA Pubs received two merit awards. The “call to the heart” fundraiser during the 2019 Gala featured a short video on Clemson student Jack Enright, who, despite being given only a 10-percent chance to be functional on his feet following a spinal cord injury in high school, has thrived with the support of several areas within Student Affairs. The video has been viewed more than 23,000 times on Facebook and YouTube.

The second merit award was achieved in the social media category for a video series featuring graduation reflections from three Clemson students — Courtney Allen, Evan McDow and Chelsey Wylder. The series was shared on all of Student Affairs’ social channels and topped out at more than 3,200 views of Wylder’s reflection on Facebook.

LeMay’s staff includes David Bishop (assistant creative director), Matt Swank (art director), Anukul Raj (multimedia and web developer), Ethan Cooper (marketing strategist), Lisa DeRuiter (content developer), Meredith Head (video production coordinator) and Debbie Allen (production manager). The staff from Campus Banner + Design includes Rob Atkinson (creative manager), Nathan Smith (print production manager), Katrin Beck (customer service manager), Carleton Giles (senior graphic designer) and Taylor DeYoung (graphic designer).

“The consistency and quality of work displayed by Tina’s team in support of the division’s communication needs is invaluable,” said Philip Sikes, communications director for Student Affairs. “These awards serve as great recognition of the commitment they’ve shown not only to our campus partners, but also to our students by sharing stories of the amazing experiences they’ve had at Clemson.”
