After a rigorous national search, the Clemson University Provost Search Committee will welcome four candidates for the executive vice president and provost position to the main campus in the next several weeks. As part of their visits, the candidates will participate in on-campus interviews and a Universitywide open forum.
The open forums will be hosted in the main auditorium in the Watt Family Innovation Center. Forums will also be accessible virtually via Zoom. Candidate names and information, including CVs and Zoom links to corresponding forums, are available on the University’s Provost Search webpage.
Open Forum A: September 8, 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
Open Forum B: September 10, 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
Open Forum C: September 15, 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
Open Forum D: September 18, 1:45 – 2:45 p.m.
“As Clemson’s chief academic officer, the provost plays a vital role in advancing excellence in teaching, research, and student success, as well as recruiting and retaining top faculty,” said Windsor Sherrill, associate vice president of Health Research and chair of the search committee. The search committee is encouraged by the strength of the applicant pool, and we look forward to the opportunity for the Clemson community to engage with the candidates during these campus visits.”
All University faculty, staff and students are encouraged to attend and submit candidate evaluation forms, which will be made available after the forum.
Clemson University’s next executive vice president and provost will succeed Provost Robert H. (Bob) Jones, who announced earlier this year that he will step down from the role after more than a decade of leadership.
