“Night of the Stars” Gala brings donors, community together in celebration to benefit students

Behind the elegant backdrop of décor and fashion that transformed Clemson University’s Madren Conference Center into a scene from the Roaring ‘20s, the Division of Student Affairs held its annual Gala on Saturday, Feb. 16. The event brought together leaders from the university and members of the community to celebrate donors whose contributions to Student Affairs — and its vast array of programs, services and facilities — aid in the enhancement of the Clemson experience.

More than 160 donors, supporters, staff and students were on hand to enjoy a night of fellowship and entertainment through live and silent auctions, food and beverage courtesy of presenting sponsor ARAMARK, as well as live performances from a cappella student group Tigeroar and the rousing sounds of dueling pianos.

In all, more than $100,000 was raised in support of Clemson students through services provided by Student Affairs. President Jim Clements and Vice President Almeda Jacks recognized a record number of families who contributed at least $25,000 over the past fiscal year toward Student Affairs.

“We have so much to celebrate in Student Affairs, and this event provides us with an opportunity to get together every year and honor our most generous donors who help our students enjoy a first-class experience,” Jacks said. “I cannot stress enough how much every single dollar we raise contributes to high-quality programs and services to help our students.”
