Clemson Libraries

Students,

Welcome from Clemson Libraries!  I wanted to take a moment and share some of our services with you as you begin work on your research projects:

  1. Helpful librarians: Chat or text from our home page and get your question answered right away! You can also email us or schedule a virtual appointment with the subject librarian assigned to your major.
  2. Multiple locations and Starbucks: Clemson Libraries has four locations on campus — Cooper, Gunnin Architecture Library, the Education Media Center and Special Collections and Archives — as well as locations in Greenville and Charleston. Starbucks is located in Cooper Library so you can stay caffeinated while you complete your assignments.
  3. Research collections: Over 800,000 books and other print materials are available in our libraries, and over 2 million eBooks, journals, and streaming media titles are available 24/7 through our Google-like search tool on our homepage.
  4. Resource sharing:  What if we don’t have what you’re looking for? No need to stress — we can access research materials at other SC libraries through PASCAL Delivers and from libraries across the world with interlibrary loan.
  5. Unique collections: Special Collections and Archives includes rare books, manuscripts and papers from prominent alumni, and university records. The Libraries are also the home of our historic properties, which include Fort Hill, Hanover House and Hopewell Plantation.
  6. Tech and textbooks for checkout: Cooper Library has video cameras, mics, and lighting kits you can use to create high-quality media projects.  Need a phone charger?  We got you.  We also have textbooks for many of your courses on reserve.
  7. Study spaces: Need someplace to meet, or a quiet spot to study? We have tables, booths and individual study nooks you can use. You can also book a group study on our website.  Curious how busy we are?  We have real-time capacity numbers available as well.
  8. Learning commons: Visit Cooper Library’s third floor to get one-stop support for your research and writing needs. Consult with career counselors to create a resume or prepare for an interview.  Learn how to stay healthy and successful.
  9. Adobe Studio and Makerspace: Peer assistance is available to help you create an image, video, podcast or 3D model.  We have video and audio production studios you can check out.  In addition to 33 3D printers, we have sticker printers and sewing machines to meet all your making needs.
  10. Citation assistance: We subscribe to RefWorks and EndNote so you can collect your paper or presentation citations and create instant bibliographies.

All that is just the tip of the iceberg!  Visit us today or contact us and find out how we can help. Our mission is to ensure you have the collections, services and spaces you need to succeed at Clemson. Go Tigers!

Sincerely,

Dean Cox
