Clemson University ranks No. 10 nationally in Manhattan Institute’s City Journal new college rankings that emphasize faculty and leadership quality, student experience and alumni outcomes.
Clemson places No. 1 nationally in quality of alumni network; No. 2 in overall student experience; No. 3 in curricular rigor, student ideological pluralism and student social life; and No. 5 in student free speech.
In addition, the Manhattan Institute’s City Journal lauds Clemson’s student outcomes:
Clemson tends to serve its graduates well economically. The school overperforms in terms of graduation and retention rates … On the whole, it has a 92 percent retention rate and an 85 percent six-year graduation rate. The Princeton Review places its alumni network in the top 20 nationwide for public universities.

Per the Wall Street Journal, this ranking system considers “the benefit of study and debate, professors who are expanding knowledge and friends forming a network for professional years to come.”
Clemson’s recognition follows recent rankings commending the University as the best in South Carolina, per U.S. News and World Report, Niche and Forbes, in addition to being named the top-ranked public and top value school in the Palmetto State in WSJ and SmartAsset rankings, respectively.
