For the first time ever, the Clemson University Agricultural Service Laboratory is announcing a print/mail fee increase for test reports.

The new charge for mailed reports is $3 per sample or group of samples. Emailed reports are free.

“We implemented a print/mail fee in 2017 to offset costs for printing and mailing hard copies of client reports,” said Shannon Alford, lab director. “With the increased costs of paper materials and mail services, we needed to increase the fee for printed and mailed reports to offset current-day costs.”

Testing is critical for optimizing inputs and monitoring nutrients for crop production whether on a large commercial or smaller home garden scale.

“We aim to provide affordable, reliable and sustainable testing services to our clients,” Alford said. “This requires that we increase fees on occasion.”

Tests conducted at the Clemson Agricultural Service Laboratory include animal waste, compost, feed and forages, plant tissue, irrigation water and soil. Fees for these services haven’t changed.
