Clemson’s Office of Access Compliance and Education (ACE) is committed to providing accessible resources to ensure equivalent access to educational services, programs and activities regardless of disability. In support of fostering a community of belonging where all members thrive and to support our vision of being one of the nation’s top 20 public universities, ACE has welcomed two new sign language interpreters, Adrianne Adamo and Dan Devor, to the team and the Clemson Family.

Adrianne Adamo has over 25 years of experience as a freelance interpreter working with Federal agencies, hospitals, schools and private companies to facilitate communication for the deaf and hard of hearing. Most recently, she worked with the Federal Reserve Bank of New York City as a staff interpreter.

Dan Devor comes to Clemson from Nashville, Tennessee, where he worked as a project coordinator at a research lab at Vanderbilt and a freelance interpreter for the greater Nashville area. While in Nashville, he provided access to concerts, comedy shows, musicals and other events along with serving the local community. At Clemson, he aims to merge his research and interpreting background to ensure the interpreting needs of all members of the community are met. In his personal time, he likes to rock climb, hike, take improv classes, and host Dungeons & Dragons or similar games with his friends.

Adamo and Devor will support accessibility for deaf and hard of hearing employees and at CU programs and events. Members of the Clemson community can request ASL interpreters for any open event where registration is not required and for events with registered participants requesting accessibility in ASL by completing the  Request an ASL Interpreter or Real-time Captioning (clemson.edu) form.  Please contact ACE at CUACE@clemson.edu to collaborate on how to provide inclusive events and to ensure the engagement of all Clemson constituents.
