A Message from the President: Fall 2023 Wrap-Up

Share:

Dear Clemson Community,

It’s hard to believe 2023 is already coming to an end, and with it, our Fall semester. Students are wrapping up their final exams, faculty and staff are closing out courses and major projects, and many of our Clemson Family are looking forward to commencement next week, where we will celebrate the accomplishments of more than 2,000 Tigers as they begin their next chapter in life as Clemson Alumni.

As I take a moment to reflect on the past 12 months, I am in awe of the incredible things that Clemson is continuing to do and be part of. Together, we are elevating Clemson even further and positively impacting the lives of those across the state of South Carolina and beyond. Thank you for what you do for this University and our Clemson Family. Each and every one of you, across the entire Clemson Experience, is part of what makes this one of the best universities in the country.

Speaking of our Clemson Family, our Men’s Soccer team won the 2023 National Championship Monday night after defeating Notre Dame 2-1. Claiming its fourth overall National Championship and second in the past three years, our Men’s Soccer team, led by Coach Mike Noonan since 2010, continues to dominate on the field and make us proud. Team Captain Brandon Parrish said it best in his on-field interview when asked, “What are you most proud of, of this squad,” he immediately replied with “Family…We stuck together for the last eight months and we were family. And that’s why we got this trophy right in front of us.” The Clemson Family is special. And I am incredibly proud of all the amazing things we are continuing to accomplish together.

To our students, faculty and staff who could stop by for our annual holiday reception earlier this week, Beth and I loved celebrating all your hard work this semester and enjoyed spending time with you. Any time I can spend with our Tigers is my favorite, so this was a great way to wind down the semester.

I hope you have a wonderful holiday season with your family and friends and that you can rest and recharge for all of the excitement that 2024 will bring. Thank you for all you do for Clemson University.
