Clemson students spend MLK holiday volunteering for Day of Service

Scores of Clemson University students chose to forgo a prototypical college break and spend the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday volunteering at local service organizations as part of the Martin Luther King Jr. National Day of Service.

Fall ’23 involvement opportunities through the Division of Student Affairs

Through involvement with the Division of Student Affairs, Clemson students are provided opportunities to be engaged, active, well, happy and successful. They gain core competencies, such as leadership skills with involvement in student organizations, employment and internships, fraternity and sorority life, and recreational sports. Three outstanding Clemson Family members receive 2023 MLK Award for Excellence in Service

A scholar who has dedicated her life to diversity and inclusion in and out of the classroom. An associate director who has become her students’ most-trusted shoulder to lean on. And a student intern whose generosity and dedication to improving student voter engagement earned the respect of her classmates, professors and community leaders. These are the three recipients of the 2023 Martin Luther King Jr. Award for Excellence in Service.

Clemson history professor honored by Morehouse College, joins MLK Jr. Collegium of Scholars

The Collegium of Scholars is one of four groups honored by the Martin Luther King Jr. College of Ministers & Laity at Morehouse. Membership in the collegium is awarded to scholars who “are committed to research, writing, teaching and mentoring in a wide variety of disciplines and contexts that promote and give support to the work of peace through moral cosmopolitan social responsibility.”
