Watt Family Innovation Center named Campus Technology Innovators Award winner

CLEMSON – Clemson University’s Watt Family Innovation Center is one of Campus Technology’s 2016 Innovators Award winners.

The Campus Technology Innovators Awards recognize colleges and universities and their vendor partners that have used technology in innovative ways to solve campus challenges.

“We’re pleased to be one of Campus Technology’s 2016 Innovators and will continue our commitment to increasing academic opportunities for our students and faculty,” said Charles Watt, executive director of the Watt Family Innovation Center.

The Watt Family Innovation Center is being recognized for the project’s IT infrastructure and systems. Vendors whose technology is used at the center include Biamp Systems, Brocade, Christie Digital, Cisco, Crestron, Da-Lite, Dell, Digital Projection, Echo360, Extreme Networks, Harman, Jupiter Systems, Mersive, Planar, Visix and XPAND.

Clemson University and the other winners will be recognized Aug. 1-4 in Boston at the 2016 Campus Technology Conference. The winners will receive in-depth coverage on the Campus Technology website and will be featured in the July/August print edition of Campus Technology magazine.

John Hess, program chair for the Campus Technology Conference, said, “…the awards represent excellence in experimentation, design, collaboration and implementation, and the projects they recognize expand the possibilities for individual campuses and the field of higher education technology.”

The other winners are Virginia Commonwealth University, London School of Economics and Political Science, University of South Florida, University of Michigan, University of San Diego, University of Central Florida, University of Maryland University College, University at Buffalo, Marshall University and the University of Oklahoma.
