When the internet stops working, or access to a system is unavailable, where do students, faculty and staff go for information?

The StatusHub is the quickest way to find updates during outages or technology interruptions, as CCIT uses the online platform to share information about ongoing and scheduled incidents.

StatusHub postings are created as soon as an issue is identified and updated as CCIT teams investigate the cause, learn more or restore service. Because the updates are tied directly to the IT incident response process, they are posted as soon as an issue is identified. When a major incident requires broader campus communication, StatusHub updates are often available before those communications are distributed.

To get notified as quickly as possible when a system outage occurs, students, faculty and staff can sign up for real-time outage notifications via StatusHub. The system allows individuals to choose specific services and systems to follow, like eduroam or Canvas, among many others. Notifications are available via email, text, Slack and Teams.

CCIT also publishes a calendar of planned major outages for scheduled maintenance in the StatusHub. These postings provide advance notice when a service may be unavailable or affected by routine maintenance.

To subscribe or manage notification preferences, visit the StatusHub and click on the “Subscribe” link in the top navigation.
