Williamson Road Parking Garage

Construction has begun on the Williamson Road Parking Garage, with fencing going up around the C-2 parking lot on May 5. The project is scheduled for completion in fall 2027.

Steam outage

A campus-wide steam outage will be in place from May 12-15. Additionally, several buildings on campus  — including residence halls in the Quad and Holtzendorff, Godfrey and Mell Halls — will experience a steam outage lasting approximately three weeks. The outage will affect hot water and dehumidification in the buildings.

Perimeter Road lane closure – May 10

On Saturday, May 10, two lanes of Perimeter Road will close from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. between Williamson Road and the entrance to the C-2 lot while crews work on the center island.

Gantt Circle construction

Beginning May 12, Gantt Circle in front of Tillman Hall will be closed to vehicular traffic for approximately four weeks to repair damage to the concrete steps and brick pavers.

E-9 parking lot/new campus fueling station

With the existing motor pool coming offline as part of the Core Campus Revitalization project, a new fueling station for University vehicles and equipment will be built in the Academic Services Building and Surplus’ rear parking lot this summer. Phase I of the project is scheduled to begin between May 19 with a fence erected around the lot on May 15. Phase I will include site work and installation of the new fuel tank along with site work of the E-9 parking lot extension. This phase is expected to take approximately a month and a half to complete.

Phase II will include site work of the visitor parking lot addition and the paving, sealing, and striping of the entire ASB lot as well as the E-9, and E-9 extension lot. Substantial completion is scheduled for mid to late July, weather permitting.

Cherry Road closure

Cherry Road will be closed between Jersey Lane and the entrance to the Godley-Snell Research Center while crews install curb and gutter along the roadway near the new Forestry and Environmental Conservation Building. Work is planned to begin in early July and last one month. Zeta Theta Street via the C-1 parking lot may be used as a detour route during the closure.

Nieri Family Alumni and Visitors Center

A portion of the John E. Walker Sr. Golf Course driving range will be replaced by a new parking lot and entrance road serving the Nieri Family Alumni and Visitors Center. The practice greens and tee boxes will be repositioned closer to the new golf pro shop. Delta Street will permanently close, and a temporary cart path and roadway will be in place connecting the new upper parking lot of the Nieri building to Lake Dr. as a detour through the area. The project is expected to be completed in mid-July.

Clyde V. Madren Center and Martin Inn parking lot seal coating

The Madren Center and Martin Inn parking lots will be closed and seal-coated at a later date this summer.

Reflection Pond accessibility improvements

Accessibility improvements to Reflection Pond, including a new pathway and upgraded lighting, are scheduled for completion in late June, weather permitting.
