Some of the best and brightest students in the Clemson University College of Engineering, Computing and Applied Sciences were lauded Thursday in an awards ceremony at the Madren Conference Center.
Family, friends and faculty members clapped for students as they accepted Tiger paw-emblazoned plaques and then posed for photos with the college’s dean, Anand Gramopadhye.
Gramopadhye said the awardees represented the next generation of engineers and scientists who will take on the grand challenges of the 21st century.
“I urge you to continue to be seekers of truth and knowledge and to use this knowledge wisely to make your corner of the world a better place,” he said to the students. “Be appreciative of all who helped guide you. In the end, the mark of an educated man or woman is measured by their contributions that benefit society.”
The awards honored students for a range of accomplishments in academics, research, leadership and teaching.
