Dear Students,

Welcome back from Spring Break! I hope you had the opportunity to rest, reset and return ready for the final six weeks of the Spring semester. This is an important stretch of the academic year, and I want to encourage each of you to stay focused, take care of yourselves and finish strong.

As you move through the weeks ahead, please remember the resources in place to support you. The CARE Network, Counseling and Psychological Services, Healthy Campus and Academic Success Center are just a few examples of places you can turn to help navigate challenges, stay well and make the most of your Clemson Experience.

I want to congratulate our new undergraduate student government leadership, Rosie Hanna and Brady Young, on being elected by their peers. I especially want to thank Zach Freeman and Maya Khaskhely for their service, leadership and commitment to all parts of campus life over the past year. Student leaders help shape our community in meaningful ways, and I am grateful for the way they represent and serve Clemson students.

I strongly encourage you to take part in the Community Health and Well-Being Needs Assessment. This is an important opportunity to help better understand Clemson’s current state in the eight dimensions of well-being. Please note this is different from Power of the Paw, which serves as a quick pulse check each semester. The Community Health and Well-Being Needs Assessment takes a broader look at student well-being and, more importantly, will help inform future action as we continue building a healthier and stronger Clemson. To date, we have received more than 1,900 responses, but we want more student input!

As we enter the final six weeks of the semester, consider some of the many opportunities to engage in campus life:

I am proud of all you contribute to this community. Let’s make these final weeks meaningful, supportive and strong together. Go Tigers!

Doug Hallenbeck, Ph.D.
