Spring has sprung and the South Carolina Botanical Garden is celebrating with its 2024 Spring Plant Sales.

The Botanical Garden Spring 2024 Plant Sales will be from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Friday, April 5, for Friends of the Garden and from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday April 6 and April 20, for the public.

Friends of the Garden memberships will be available at the gate for non-members who want to shop on April 5. Friends of the Garden memberships also are available at https://bit.ly/HelpTheGardenGrow.

New this year, gates will close 30 minutes before the end of the sale each day.

This year’s plant sales will feature a large selection of plants, including hard-to-find native species, seasonal annuals and vegetable transplants. Other features include culinary herbs, bog plants, herbaceous perennials, native ferns, flowering shrubs, ornamental grasses, and flowering, fruit and shade trees.

All sales will be held in the nursery section of the Botanical Garden, 154 Lacecap Loop, off Perimeter Road in Clemson, South Carolina. A catalog for the Spring 2024 Plant Sale will be available before the sales at https://bit.ly/2024PlantSale. Hard copies of the catalog will be available at the Garden on sale days.

Botanical Garden staff members, master gardeners, Clemson University students and volunteers will be on hand to assist with the selection of plants for use in home landscapes.

Once gardens and lawns are spruced up with plants from the sales, homeowners can visit the Clemson Extension Home and Garden Information Center to learn how to keep their new plants happy and healthy.

The spring and fall plant sales are major fundraising events for the South Carolina Botanical Garden. Payments can be made by cash, check or credit card. All profits support operations and enhancements in the Garden. For information, contact Misty Shealy, nursery and greenhouse manager,  at (864) 656-2458 or scbgnursery@clemson.edu.
