The Clemson University Division of Inclusion and Equity is launching a series of virtual workshops to help faculty, staff and graduate students explore the COVID-19 crisis from various perspectives to better navigate changes associated with the virus.
The workshops are designed to examine the impact of the pandemic and how a host of communities, differentiated by status, socioeconomics, health, age, gender and religion, are affected. They also aim to help explore ways to apply equitable and inclusive leadership practices while navigating COVID-19 and beyond. Each class will have a featured speaker and moderator from Clemson who is a subject matter expert.
“In this time of crisis, it is essential we continue to discuss equity and inclusion,” said Moryah Jackson, director of diversity education for the Division of Inclusion and Equity. “We have an opportunity to reflect, collaborate and innovate in ways that foster more inclusive and equitable cultures and systems. That’s why we’re launching the Equity, Inclusion and COVID-19 Summer Series.”
Crisis often moves society forward, said Jackson, adding she thinks this moment gives the nation an opportunity to reflect, collaborate and innovate in ways that foster more inclusive and equitable cultures and systems.
“Post-COVID-19 recovery will require the collective networks, capacities, knowledge and skills of our organizations,” she said. “Together, we will explore ways to apply equitable and inclusive leadership practices while navigating COVID-19.”
