Search begins for founding dean of College of Veterinary Medicine

Share:

Clemson has completed an in-depth feasibility study on the possible creation of a College of Veterinary Medicine at Clemson University. The study identified the national and statewide demand for veterinarians, new sustainable models of education, and unprecedented growth in animal health, and it was approved and accepted by the Board of Trustees at its 2023 Winter Quarterly Meetings.

In support of this vision, the Provost’s Office has begun a national search for a founding dean for a College of Veterinary Medicine. The individual selected for this position will build the programmatic strategy and oversee the formation of new veterinary facilities.

Special Assistants to the Provost Boyd Parr and Tim Boosinger are co-leading the search process. Experts in the veterinary discipline, Parr and Boosinger share a passion for higher education and purpose-driven service to the veterinary discipline and practice. Parr served as the South Carolina State Veterinarian until 2021. Boosinger is a former dean of Auburn’s College of Veterinary Medicine, and was vice president and provost of Auburn University.

Clemson University invites letters of nomination, applications (letter of interest, complete CV and list of five references), or expressions of interest to be submitted via Interfolio using the following link: http://apply.interfolio.com/122554.
