On Feb. 9, all faculty, students and staff involved in federally sponsored research activities will be automatically enrolled in a required Tiger Training course on research security

Per agency requirements, all personnel listed on federal and federal pass-through applications are required to complete research security training prior to proposal submission. This includes any faculty, graduate students, postdoctoral fellows and staff named on the proposal and to be paid from the project budget.

Individuals who hold a current Sponsored Programs Certification will receive an email from Tiger Training on Feb. 9 notifying them of enrollment in the Research Security training course. The course should take an hour to complete.

For those not automatically enrolled, the pre-award support center and Office of Sponsored Programs staff will notify any individuals who have not completed the training requirement when they are added to proposal records.

Research security training is an annual requirement that safeguards data and intellectual property, protects national security, maintains public trust, supports the responsible use of federal funds, and nurtures innovation. Tiger Training will automatically notify individuals to renew their certification before it expires.
