Faculty and staff may now renew their annual parking permits online and should visit the Parking and Transportation Services Employee Permits page to get their 2026-2027 permit. As the University transitions to Workday, payments for permits and citations must be made in the Parking and Transportation Services Office at 310 Klugh Ave, Suite B, until July 1.
Reminder: even if you are enrolled in payroll deduction, you still need to renew your permit.
Regular employee and Park-N-Ride permits will not receive a physical permit in the mail as your license plate is your permit, so please be sure to make sure it is linked to your permit. LEV, EV, ELT, Carpool and Emeritus permits will still receive a separate communication — those permit holders and Retirees will still receive a decal to display.
Existing permits expire June 30.
Clemson University Parking and Transportation Services has been approved to increase permit rates for all pay bands for the 2026-27 academic year. Depending on your salary band, adjusted rates will range from .04 cents up to $1.04 per paycheck beginning on July 1, 2026; a five percent change from last year’s rates. Employees enrolled in payroll deduction will see any changes reflected in their July 30, 2026, paycheck.
What’s New for 2026-27
As you renew your permit, please note the following parking and transportation updates for the upcoming academic year:
New and Expanded Employee Parking
- The Sirrine Lot (E-4) has reopened following completion of the Advanced Materials Innovation Complex (AMIC) project.
- Additional employee parking is also available on Nu Street on Clemson’s west campus — use the Purple Route stop to travel to stops along Calhoun Drive.
- The E-24 gravel lot at Cherry Road and Highway 93 on Clemson’s East Campus has been permanently closed. In its place, 79 new employee parking spaces are available along Morrison Road, with pedestrian access available to Cherry Road.
License Plate Recognition Reminders
- Clemson continues to use Automated License Plate Recognition (ALPR) technology. For most employees, your license plate serves as your parking permit.
- Please verify that your current vehicle information is linked to your permit during the renewal process.
- When parking, please position your vehicle so the license plate is visible from the travel lane whenever possible to help ensure accurate permit verification.
Options for Employees Not Regularly on Campus
- Faculty and staff who come to campus only occasionally may find daily permits more cost-effective than purchasing an annual permit.
- Temporary virtual daily permits can be purchased online for $6 per day, and no printed permit is required.
Alternative Transportation Programs
- Employees can take advantage of Clemson’s FREE Carpool Program, which is available to groups of two or more commuters with similar schedules. For more information, visit the Carpool Program page.
- Park-N-Ride permits remain available for only $50 annually and include access to frequent shuttle service, shaded parking areas and electric vehicle charging stations with a valid EV permit. For more information, visit the Park-N-Ride page
- CATbus Services – Review routes and schedules serving campus and the surrounding community.
Special Permit Assistance
- Employees who are unable to purchase permits online, including U.S. Forestry, Ricoh, Aramark and intermittent employees, should visit the Parking and Transportation Services office located at 310 Klugh Ave, Suite B to complete their permit application in person.
