Clemson University’s Risk Services and Insurance Department recognizes employees who have demonstrated exceptional safe driving practices while operating state-owned vehicles over the past year through the Safe Driver Award. The annual Safe Driver Award, Organized by Risk Services and Insurance, the award acknowledges individuals who have exhibited exemplary driving behavior throughout the academic year.
Nominations for the Safe Driver Award are open until May 31, providing supervisors in all departments the opportunity to recognize deserving employees who help foster a culture of responsibility and care on the road.

To qualify for nomination, employees must meet specific criteria, including:
- Operating a state-owned vehicle through 2023 without a chargeable accident or moving violation.
- Completed an approved driver training course within the past three years.
Employees who have consistently met these criteria for over five years will receive special recognition, highlighting their sustained dedication to safe driving and upholding Clemson University’s standards of excellence.
A special ceremony and reception will be on Wednesday, June 12, at 8:30 am at Burton Gallery / Littlejohn Coliseum. Risk Services Staff will serve a light breakfast, and award presentations will be conducted by the CU-ICAR Team from Greenville. Attendees will also be able to see the latest research project vehicles displayed at the venue.
Supervisors are encouraged to submit their nominations through the Microsoft forms link or the provided QR Code . The information needed to complete the submission is the employee’s full name, department name/number, CUID number, years of service with the University and details of any chargeable accidents or moving violations.
