The Brook T. Smith Launchpad, Clemson’s Entrepreneurial Hub, is now open to University students, faculty and staff. Located on the first two floors of 390 College Avenue in downtown Clemson, the Launchpad is open 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. Monday through Friday, 8 a.m to 4 p.m. Saturdays, and 3 p.m. to 11 p.m. Sundays.
“The Brook T. Smith Launchpad serves as the virtual and physical hub for all things entrepreneurship at Clemson,” said Founding Director John M. Hannon, Ph.D. “We’re excited to connect and nurture the entrepreneurial talent here at Clemson and be that incubator for the University community.”
The Brook T. Smith Launchpad provides expertise and resources to facilitate ideation, collaboration, consultation, networking and more. It brings on-campus organizations, entrepreneurial alumni and funding sources together, while cultivating entrepreneurial thinking, ethical leadership skills and inventive research that will equip students to drive innovation and impact global businesses.
The space and its staff have already coordinated with all of Clemson’s colleges, Clemson Athletics, Military and Veteran Engagement and several student organizations.

In addition to the wide range of resources available, the Launchpad will host a full slate of events throughout the year including visiting speakers, quarterly pitch meetings and more. Throughout the Spring semester, each college will be featured with its own “Entrepreneurship Week,” beginning with the College of Science on Tuesday, January 30. A “Distinguished Alumni Lecture” will centerpiece a program featuring networking and a job fair and from 5-8 p.m. A full slate of events is available on the Brook T. Smith Launchpad website.
The Spiro Institute for Entrepreneurial Leadership, along with its focus on educational, research, service programs, and career enhancement opportunities for aspiring entrepreneurs, will become part of the Brook T. Smith Launchpad as Clemson expands and coordinates its efforts around entrepreneurship.
