The Auxiliary teams currently housed within the Division of Finance and Operations will move to the Division of Student Affairs effective July 1. The change is part of an institutional realignment aimed at enhancing the student experience.
The units moving under Student Affairs include Clemson Home (Housing & Dining), the University Bookstore, the Phil & Mary Bradley Early Childhood Education Center and Parking and Transportation Services.
These services, which directly impact the daily lives of students, had been moved to Finance and Operations in 2019 as part of a prior administrative reorganization. With recent leadership transitions, University leaders identified an opportunity to revisit the placement of these functions and align them more closely with the student-centered mission of Student Affairs.
“Our Auxiliary teams work daily to deliver on the promise of a campus that is welcoming and supportive.” said Kathy Bush Hobgood, associate vice president for student affairs, who will continue to oversee the group. “Each unit supports the student experience, either through direct service or through creating campus environments that care for students, faculty and staff as we all work to further the academic mission of the university. I am delighted to continue to serve Clemson alongside our Student Affairs colleagues.”
Doug Hallenbeck, vice president for student affairs, emphasized the alignment with Clemson Elevate, the University’s strategic plan. “This move supports our top strategic pillar – delivering the No. 1 Student Experience in the nation. Our goal is to ensure every interaction and environment students encounter contributes to their success and sense of belonging,” he said.
The realignment is designed to strengthen integration, ensure responsiveness and foster innovation across these essential functions.
Clemson remains focused on enhancing the student journey inside and outside the classroom, and this transition reflects a broader institutional effort to support that mission through thoughtful organizational strategy.
