Student Affairs

The Dean of Students Office is offering a fall training series designed to help students, faculty and staff build the knowledge, skills and confidence to recognize, prevent and respond to interpersonal violence.

The series begins Tuesday, Sept. 15 with an open interpersonal violence prevention training where participants will explore warning signs, the impact of interpersonal violence, active bystander strategies, and campus and community resources.

Interactive One Love workshops will follow, focusing on digital communication and unhealthy relationships, recognizing escalation and intervening, emotional abuse and healthy boundaries.

REP-U, a partnership between the Dean of Students Office and Safe Harbor, a 24-hour domestic violence crisis organization serving the Upstate, will be offered in November. Separate sessions for student and employees will explore dating violence, recognizing warning signs, responding to disclosures, supporting survivors and connecting individuals with appropriate resources.

Each session offers practical tools that participants can use in their everyday lives and campus communities. Whether learning how to support a friend, respond to a disclosure, recognize concerning relationship behaviors or become a more active bystander, participants will leave better equipped to contribute to a culture of safety, care and support.

All sessions will be held in Learning Commons Room 309 on the third floor of Cooper Library. Unless otherwise noted, sessions are open to all students, faculty and staff.
