Students,
It’s great to have you back on campus as we head into the first full week of classes. The energy across Clemson is unmistakable — a mix of excitement, anticipation and possibility that reminds us why this place feels like home.
New students and families began their Clemson journey last week at Ready, Set, Roar! We want to officially welcome these new Tigers into the Clemson Family. Additionally, our team in the Center for Student Leadership and Engagement organized another successful Welcome Week. From movie night in McKissick Theater to late-night fun at U-NITES! in the Barnes Center, these efforts help new students connect, belong and start their Clemson journey with purpose.
I spent time at Tiger Prowl in Hendrix Student Center, where hundreds of student leaders and organizations came together for the chance to find community and get involved — an essential part of what makes the Clemson experience the nation’s No. 1 student experience, both inside and outside the classroom.
I want to extend a heartfelt thank-you to Interim President Bob Jones for his steady leadership during this transitional period. I look forward to continuing our work together to make sure your Clemson experience is everything you want it to be. I’m also excited to welcome our new Provost, Cole Smith, to campus as we collaborate to strengthen academic and student success across the University.
This spring promises many more opportunities to learn, serve and lead — from the MLK Day of Service next week to the Career Fair, Leadership Week, and many other events throughout the semester.
We’re also making visible progress on major projects that will enhance student life, including the new Student Health Center breaking ground next month, final renovations in the high-rises and the upcoming expansion of Douthit Hills. These initiatives reflect our commitment to your well-being and success.
Remember, there are countless ways to get involved and stay well, including a few below:
- CARE Network – Referral point if you have any concerns with your experience
- Dean of Students Office – Helping students navigate challenges
- Campus Recreation – Featuring state-of-the-art facilities for physical activity and well-being
- Center for Student Leadership and Engagement – Your home for involvement on campus
- Clemson Home – Housing and feeding students on campus
- Student Health Services – Medical Services, CAPS and Healthy Campus
Let’s make it a great semester. Go Tigers!
