Students, faculty and staff are now invited to nominate deserving individuals for four prestigious awards that recognize students for exemplary academic performance, leadership and service to Clemson University and the broader community.

The deadline for submitting a nomination for the awards listed below is January 27, 2026. Once nominated, a student receives an email with instructions for completing the application process. Nominees are asked to provide two recommendations from Clemson faculty and/or staff.

Award descriptions and eligibility requirements are listed below and within each link.

NORRIS MEDAL

Considered the most prestigious undergraduate student award, the Norris Medal is presented annually to the best all-around graduating senior who possesses exceptional scholastic achievement and leadership ability. Student must have a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA.

MATT LOCKE LEADERSHIP AWARD

Presented to one student for outstanding leadership with regard to service and devotion to humankind and Clemson University. Students must have a minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA.

FRANK A. BURTNER SCHOLARSHIP

Presented to rising juniors and seniors at Clemson University who display exemplary leadership qualities and an outstanding academic record.

ALGERNON SYDNEY SULLIVAN STUDENT AWARD

Presented to two students from the graduating class for outstanding service to Clemson University and the extended Clemson community. Students must have a minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA.
