Students,
As the semester has drawn to a close, I want to thank President Clements for the incredible 12 years of leadership and service he dedicated to Clemson. We have reached new heights under his leadership, and he will be dearly missed. As we move forward, the next chapter brings a great deal of excitement about what’s next for Clemson, but I know we will continue to build on the strong foundation President Clements helped create. I look forward to working alongside Bob Jones, who last week was appointed by the Board of Trustees to serve as interim president while a national search is conducted for the University’s next president. He will do a great job during this transitional period.
As we look to this week, I also want to take a moment to celebrate our nearly 2,000 students who will be graduating in Littlejohn Coliseum. You have reached an incredible milestone, and on behalf of our team in Student Affairs, thank you for choosing Clemson as the place to begin your journey. Wherever your path leads, you will always be part of the Clemson Family!

For all students, this has been an incredible Fall semester — one filled with favorite Clemson traditions, new experiences and moments that remind us why this community is so special. Whether cheering in Death Valley, volunteering across the Upstate, or connecting with classmates in study sessions and campus events, your engagement and spirit make this University thrive.
As we move into the winter break, I encourage you to take time to rest and renew. Spend time with family, friends and loved ones. Reflect on your accomplishments and prepare for the opportunities ahead.
Please note that Clemson University will be closed Dec. 22–26 and Jan. 1, and many areas of main campus will have adjusted hours during the extended break. If we can be of assistance, don’t hesitate to reach out at savp@clemson.edu.
I look forward to welcoming everyone back for the start of Spring semester classes on Wednesday, Jan. 7. Enjoy your break — and Go Tigers!
