On Wednesday, Oct. 26 Mummenschanz, the celebrated Swiss mask theater troupe, will bring their anniversary production “50 Years” to Clemson University. Founded in 1972 by Andres Bossard, Bernie Schürch and Floriana Frasetto, the multi-award-winning theater company has been delighting audiences with their signature style for half a century.

The production takes audiences on a journey through the company’s most beloved sketches.
Mummenschanz, dubbed the “musicians of silence,” perform without words or music. The two-hour production brings audiences into a world of imagination giving ordinary objects a new life. The company revisits legendary characters from their past performances such as the Toilet Paper Faces, Pipe Creature and Clay Masks.

The resulting experience is a poetic, playful performance for all ages. In addition to their evening performance, the company will perform for local K-12 students on the Bill and Donna Eskridge Tri-ART Series, the Brooks Center’s educational outreach series.
