Excitement is in the air at Clemson University as the start of the 2024-25 academic year is just around the corner. Welcome Week is set to take place on main campus and features a wide range of programs, activities and events – most aimed toward the incoming Class of 2028.

“Welcome Week is a really cool opportunity to make a great first impression on so many students,” says Casey Ford, interim director of student transitions in the Center for Student Leadership and Engagement. “Some have already been here for Ready, Set, Roar!, but it’s a great chance for the groups we partner with to create a memorable experience for students who are on campus.”

Welcome Week begins with new student move-in. One of the highlights of the 2024-25 academic year is the return of newly renovated Byrnes Hall to Clemson’s campus residential inventory. The renovation is the first of three scheduled for Bryan Mall’s high-rise residential communities, with Manning and Lever following suit the next two years. The majority of students moving to campus will occur between Aug. 14-17.

“When you think about a student’s academic and co-curricular experience, we have programs for several days that they can build those connection points before classes start,” Ford says.

Featuring a new time this year, the Entering Class Photo will bookend the Welcome Week experience for students following the First Day of Classes. Students are asked to enter Memorial Stadium from the visitor’s tunnel entrance off of Centennial Boulevard and will form the outline of the Tiger Paw at midfield. “It’s open to first-year and transfer students and they can come fill in our signature Paw and look back at the photo fondly from their time at Clemson,” Ford says. Students driving in for the photo can park in the C-3 lot on the west end of the stadium.
