Editor’s note: This is the latest installment in our series of “Student Affairs Talk” podcasts. In it, Communications Director for Student Affairs Philip Sikes visits with various leaders from the staff and student communities. This week’s featured guest is Garcy Lawson, a sophomore philosophy major from Miramar, Florida.

The term “sibling rivalry” takes on a different meaning in the Lawson household. Garcy and Gaby Lawson are identical twins and college sophomores who ultimately chose to forge their own unique paths after high school: Gaby is enrolled at the University of Alabama while Garcy attends Clemson University. Their unique journey was recently chronicled by a student media group in Tuscaloosa.

Garcy Lawson knew from the time she set foot on campus for Orientation she would one day become an ambassador. Admittedly shy, she wanted to return the favor to those who welcomed her with open arms into the Clemson community prior to her freshman year.

In this week’s podcast, Lawson explains the many campus connections she has already formed in 1 1/2 years, details the reasons behind her decision to come to Clemson, and recalls the intense texting battle with her sister during the night of the 2019 College Football Playoff National Championship Game.
