Staff from the Division of Student Affairs celebrated inside of Hendrix Student Center during its annual Winter Social on Wednesday, Dec. 10. Vice President for Student Affairs Doug Hallenbeck led a short program that included recognition of the division’s 2025 staff excellence award winners.

Individual awards were presented to Taylor Casey, Scott Cook, Heath Fulmer, Chloe Ogden and Ti-Ana Pyatt. The Office of Fraternity and Sorority Life earned the Team Award, while Radek Ostrowski from the Office of Institutional Research was the recipient of the Partnership Award.

“We could not support the needs of our more than 29,000 students without a strong team,” says Vice President for Student Affairs Doug Hallenbeck. “This year’s award recipients embody the University’s values and the division’s strategic priorities. Congratulations to each of them for making an invaluable impact on the experiences of our students.”

INDIVIDUAL AWARDS

Taylor Casey ‘21 serves as a community director in Douthit Hills East. She oversees 29 residential community mentors and two graduate community directors for a population of 760 first-year students. Casey helps coordinate training for Clemson Home’s 200+ residential community mentors. She is also a member of the professional development committee for the Southeastern Association of Housing Officers (SEAHO).

Scott Cook is assistant director for Military and Veteran Engagement. In his role, he serves as an advisor and mentor to the Student Veterans Association (SVA), an organization with 132 members and six executive officers. Cook is the lead instructor for Green Zone Training, which educates hundreds of faculty and staff on the military-connected student experience each year. His leadership has been instrumental in the annual 9/11 Memorial Stadium Stair Climb, which saw record attendance in September. Recently, he was named Staff Member of the Game for Clemson football’s contest against Furman.

Heath Fulmer ’09 is assistant director for event services with Campus Reservations and Events. He is responsible for ensuring the successful execution of a variety of events on campus, with special emphasis on Samuel J. Cadden Chapel. Additionally, he is an invaluable contributor to University Commencement each spring, summer and winter by providing graduates with a seamless and successful processional.

Chloe Ogden has served as assistant director with the Office of Community and Ethical Standards the past three years and will move into the role of deputy Title IX coordinator in the Division of Civil and Individual Rights following the Fall semester. During a time of substantial transition in OCES, Ogden’s strong work ethic and leadership helped the department continue to support students at a high level.

Ti-Ana Pyatt M ’23 is assistant director for student engagement in the Center for Student Leadership and Engagement. In her role, she helps manage several large-scale campus events — including some of Clemson’s most cherished traditions. She serves as advisor to Central Spirit and helped the organization with the coordination of the First Friday Parade and Homecoming float build — the latter of which was successful despite being significantly impacted by inclement weather for a second consecutive year.

TEAM AWARD

The Office of Fraternity and Sorority Life (FSL) was named Team of the Year. Led by Interim Director Trish Robinson, FSL has demonstrated its commitment to excellence by serving a community of nearly 7,500 members — roughly 31% of Clemson’s undergraduate population. The FSL team hosted 90 programs and supported council-led programs last academic year that altogether totaled over 30,000 attendees. FSL also partners with departments throughout the division and broader campus in an effort to create the No. 1 student experience.

PARTNERSHIP AWARD

Radek Ostrowski received the Student Affairs Partnership Award. Ostrowski serves as director of institutional assessment within the Office of Institutional Research. In partnership with Student Affairs, Institutional Excellence and others, he develops and implements the twice-yearly Power of the Paw survey to better serve and support Clemson students. He has also partnered with the division to deliver 25+ presentations to university stakeholders on data-informed outcomes, all in an effort to foster the No. 1 student experience.
