The week of June 21-28 will be a busy one on Clemson’s main campus, as the University welcomes a number of students and summer camp participants, as well as tens of thousands of concert-goers for the latest concert in the Death Valley Nights series.
NewSpring Gauntlet Camp: June 22–26
Clemson Home Summer Programs will welcome the NewSpring Gauntlet camp beginning Sunday, June 21, bringing approximately 3,000 guests to campus for the week. Event setup will begin on Thursday, June 18, with participants arriving throughout the day on Monday, June 22.
Participants will be housed in various residence halls and engaged in scheduled activities across campus. Both Schilletter Dining Hall and The Dish at McAlister will be utilized by this group for meals; however, The Dish will remain the only dining location open to the general public during this time.
College Avenue closure: June 22-25

From Monday, June 22, through Thursday, June 25 at noon, College Avenue will be closed at the Highway 93 intersection to North Clemson Avenue for work on the city of Clemson’s Downtown Streetscape Project.
Death Valley Nights: Morgan Wallen, June 26–27
Country artist Morgan Wallen will perform in Memorial Stadium as part of his “Still The Problem” tour on Friday, June 26, and Saturday, June 27. In preparation for the multi-night event, faculty and staff should be aware of the following traffic and parking impacts:
- Centennial Boulevard outside the West End Zone and continuing west into the Lot 5 area is closed from Thursday, June 18, until Monday, June 29.
- Williamson Road will be closed between the Avenue of Champions and Fort Hill Street from Wednesday, June 24, to Sunday, June 28.
- The Avenue of Champions, located between Centennial Boulevard and Williamson Road, will be closed from Thursday, June 25, to Saturday, June 27.

Many parking lots on campus are also being used for paid and free concert parking, beginning at 10 a.m. on Friday, June 26.
Supervisors are encouraged to work with employees to assess whether traffic and parking impacts may affect in-person work on Friday and, when appropriate, consider flexible work options.
The city of Clemson has limited parking available. The parking garages are roughly a 20 minute walk from the stadium. The city uses ParkMobile for mobile payments, but also offers kiosks in both garages for those that choose:
- Friday, June 26
- Garages are open at 7:45 a.m.
- 4-hours free
- Reserved parking violators will be towed.
- On street 2-hour limit, pay to park
- All vehicles must be out by 4 a.m. Saturday morning or they will be towed.
- The city has a list of private entities that have reserved parking, and this list can be provided upon request.
- Saturday, June 27
- Garages are open at 7 a.m.
- All day special event rate $40.00
- 24/7 reserved parking, violators will be towed.
- All vehicles must be out by 4 a.m.
There are several individuals, organizations and businesses in and around the stadium and downtown area that are licensed to sell parking in their lots/yards, and they will have signs up that say “City of Clemson Event Parking Permit” along with their rates.
Summer Move-In: June 28
Incoming Summer Start residents and other Summer II students will move in on Sunday, June 28.
Move-In Details & Traffic Flow
- All check-ins will take place in residential communities this year.
- Expected route impacts include Perimeter Road, Walter T. Cox Boulevard, Newman Road, Sherman Street, McMillan Road, Morrison Road and Cherry Road.
- Temporary sidewalk and pedestrian path access will be used for unloading.
- ADA parking will remain available.
High-Impact Areas to Avoid
- Calhoun Courts, Bryan Mall and Douthit Hills will be primary move-in locations.
- The Kite Hill parking lot will be designated for family parking.
- Portions of E-37 and E-27 will support unloading at Douthit Hills.
- All Thornhill Village roads will be used for Calhoun Courts.
- Bryan Mall parking will not be available.
- Cherry Road will experience increased traffic.
