Perimeter Road new traffic patterns to begin August 14

University Facilities has announced new traffic patterns on and around Perimeter Road, beginning Monday, August 14. Please exercise caution when driving around active construction areas and obey all traffic signs.

Perimeter Road will remain a single lane in both directions while crews work in the center of the roadway. The entrance to the C-1 parking lot will be open as well.

Weather permitting, all lanes of Perimeter Road will be open west of Kappa Street (the road that accesses the Strom Thurmond Institute). Eastbound Perimeter Road will be reduced to a single lane from Brooks Center Drive to Highway 76. Williamson Road will also be open.

Theta Kappa Street will reopen at Perimeter Road allowing access to Lightsey Bridge. Both Gardens Trail (the entrance and exit of the South Carolina Botanical Garden) and Theta Kappa Street will be right turn only onto Perimeter Road.

The Newman Road Extension will reopen between Commons Court and Perimeter Road. One of two right turn lanes onto Perimeter Road will remain closed.
