The official application window for the inaugural class for the Harvey S. Peeler Jr. College of Veterinary Medicine is now open. We’ve received lots of questions and want to provide everyone with this FAQ. Any specific questions can be directed to DVMAdmit@clemson.edu.
- Will you accept AP credit? How do I list my AP credit on my application?
- Yes! We will accept AP credit to fulfill prerequisite courses as long as those credits show up on the institution transcript specifically listing which course the AP credit fulfills. These courses should be entered into the first term of the first institution that you attended as a student and the grade that should be selected “AP Credit.”
- Where should I send my transcripts? My institution does not participate in electronic delivery of transcripts?
- Official copies of our transcripts should be sent to dvmadmit@clemson.edu. Transcripts are only official if they come directly from the institution’s Office of the Registrar to our office.
- In the rare instance that an institution does not participate in the electronic delivery of transcripts, please contact our office at dvmadmit@clemson.edu for more information.
- My GPA does not quite hit the mark – is there any flexibility in the minimum GPA for me as an at-large (non-resident) applicant?
- Our admissions process has been designed to recruit and admit at-large students who demonstrate an ability to be successful in the rigorous DVM curriculum. The cumulative GPA is calculated using all coursework completed at a postsecondary-level institution. You are encouraged to calculate your GPA using all coursework (and all attempts at each course) to determine whether your GPA meets the minimum threshold.
- I don’t have the minimum number of experiences required for admission. Is there flexibility in the experience requirement?
- We have one of the most accessible sets of admission requirements for any DVM program. Applicants must have the minimum number of experiences when their applications are submitted.
- I noticed that only two prerequisite courses can be incomplete (in-progress/planned) at the time of application submission. My situation means I will have more, as I am taking x number of classes now and x number of classes in the spring because of scheduling – will my application be considered?
- Unfortunately, anyone who submits an application with more than two prerequisite courses incomplete will not receive consideration in this admission cycle. This is true if completed courses have a grade less than C-.
- I would like to complete prerequisite courses over the summer. Will my application be accepted?
- Applicants who accept offers to join the incoming class will undergo an audit of their application material on June 16, 2026. Official transcripts must be in our office by June 15, 2026, and all prerequisite courses must be successfully completed (C- or better) by this time. Applicants are encouraged to ensure their course completion will allow for the submission of official transcripts by this deadline.
