Clemson University’s Office of Human Resources (OHR) has been monitoring and preparing for changes to the FLSA since the Department of Labor (DOL) proposed new overtime rules in August 2023.
On November 15, 2024, implementation of the new FLSA overtime rule was blocked in federal court. With this injunction in place, Clemson will not be implementing the second phase of the overtime rules that was scheduled to take effect January 1, 2025.
The Office of Human Resources will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates if the status of the injunction changes.
